Remote Learning

Since all pupils returned to New Horizons Seaside Primary on March 8th, we are again providing pupils who are self-isolating at home with remote learning, in line with the first part of our 'September 2020 Remote Learning Policy' (see the relevant section below).

Remote Learning During Lockdown 2021

Since the new national lockdown started on 05.01.21, we have been providing all our pupils at home with remote learning, in line with the second part of our 'September 2020 Remote Learning Policy' (see the section below).

We have however sought to further enhance our provision beyond the scope of the September Remote Learning Policy, so please also refer to the 'New Horizons Seaside Primary Remote Learning Overview January 2021' (see below), which outlines in detail our current remote learning provision in each year group.

In addition to this, we also have put the following provision in place:

  • One of our part-time teachers provides live remote reading sessions with select pupils in Year 5 on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
  • Our Speech and Language Teaching Assistant is carrying out live weekly work with parents of select pupils with specific Speech and Language needs at home as well as sending home packs for parents to use with their children.
  • Our Learning Mentor places calls to select families who we feel would benefit from her support in terms of wellbeing and any issues relating to learning from home.
